Joycelyn's Graduation | ZiiChar's Birthday

Went down to TP on Thursday because Joycelyn had her graduation ceremony. Reached at around 4, and roamed around a little as I was lost. But Joycelyn and Sarah found me eventually so yay. Wanted to do my brows with Sarah after that but didn't do it in the end because there was another place that's cheaper.

The clique celebrated Zii and Char's belated birthday on Sunday. The rest went for lunch, followed by Tramp Park @ Serangoon (Skyhigh). Had jamming with Kaixin and Cheryl because my back still hurts and I can't afford to injure it any further. They said that there were too many people and they prefer AMPed @ Katong. Headed down to Skyhigh to meet them at 5 after they were done jumping, then walked over to Chomp Chomp for dinner. We ordered huge ass drinks for $3 each and Jason got grass jelly in a swaggy bucket cup. Food was good and Chelle is happy.

Went over to Oblong for icecream and waffles after dinner. Told the staff that it was my friends' birthdays and wanted to give them a surprise so they served the waffles/icecreams with candles and the happy birthday sign thingy. Ordered Red Velvet Waffles/Lemon Pie Ice Cream/Maple Syrup for Zii and Earl Grey Lavender/Butterscotch for Char. Personally felt the lemon pie tasted really weird but the guys liked it, and would prefer Creamier's earl grey. NTS: Butterscotch > Maple syrup

Kai and I shared 2 scoops of icecream - Rocky Road and Rum&Raisins. The rum&raisins was good but Rocky Road was just so-so, maybe because it was quite frozen. If I were to return, it would be because of the red velvet waffles with cream cheese (they're really generous with the amount of cream cheese!!)

Sent Lorraine off on Monday morning as she heads to Thailand for a week of mission trip. Hope she has interesting stories to share when she comes back. Sat awhile at Coffee Bean because Sally wanted coffee and it was too early for lunch. Discussed some plans about going to Bangkok for a short retreat and I really wish this will happen!!! Stacy was sick so she went home first, then had lunch with Kai at 4fingers. THEIR DRUMSTICKS SHRUNK I AM SO SAD. Byebye 4fingers. Popeyes I'm coming back for you.

Oh and Chinz came back from the land of kimchi and she got me and Ziqi minion socks and this headband thingy. It's so soft and fluffy I'm gonna dieeeeeeeee!! Thanks Chinz. Love the presents! ^^

Chelle Gets Braces | Suki-Ya @ Marina Sq

A month ago my mum told me about this program that BioMers/SimpliClear was offering and I had a chance to get free invisalign braces! Went down to MidView City for an interview with the orthodontist anddddddd I GOT FREE BRACES TREATMENT!! All costs will be covered except non-braces treatments (ie x-rays, extractions and cleaning). Feeling so blessed (':

Went down to Smileworks @ Paragon and met my orthodontist, Dr Geraldine Oh, this morning to do the initial braces stuff. Did the molds for my teeth, took many photographs and 3 x-rays.The best news I've heard today is that I do not have to do any extractions and we can leave my wisdom teeth alone for now. Let's just hope that my wisdom teeth stay in my gums forever and not bother me. Gonna put on braces next month and I really can't wait even though it will mean eating porridge for soft food for the next few days. Spent $160+ for the x-rays today and there will be another round of x-rays at the end of the entire treatment. Hope that's all I'll be spending hehehe.

Met Hongjie for lunch and he was sooooooo lateeeeeeeee. Supposed to meet him at 11 BUT HE WAS STILL AT TAMPINES AT 11. So I walked down from Paragon to Cityhall to kill some time, met him at the mrt station and headed to Marina Square for 1-for-1 Suki-Ya Buffet! $18.90++ for 2 people so Hongjie gave me $12 and asked me to keep the change so I paid $10 woohoooo so worth it.

Featuring the watch Hongjie gave me for my 21st birthday (:

Roamed around Marina Sq and Suntec for around 2 hours until we got really bored and went back to Tampines for Black Ball. Stoned there until his friend appeared, then got dinner for Sosh and headed home.

Saw this monster moving at ToysRUs and got a shock of my life LOL

SKMCC Graduation Service | Lee Meng Liang Clinic

Sunday was the graduation service for the kids of SKMCC. Linette and I were talking about the kids that we taught and we realised they are already in Primary 1 this year. The YA were in charge of being waiters/waitresses, while the adults befriended the parents. It was kinda like a mini banquet session and we had fun serving food and drinks. Zii ended up being a hairstylist and he messed up Chelle Lee's hair.

My back has been hurting for the longest time ever (actually since prelims) and daddy brought me to see a Chinese physician today. He checked my back and said that the alignment was off. So he twisted and cracked stuff to adjust the bones back. Honestly, it was damn scary what if my bones break and I die but I am glad to say that I am still alive. Dad says it'll take a few days to see the effects but I really hope it'll recover asap. Had lunch with daddy at T1 afterwards and we saw this super cute mini vintage car! Had ban mian and fried dumplings from the kopitiam upstairs and it was good (: Came home and did some stuff. Applied for a job through jobstreet and I rly rly hope I get it. It's not even because I'm that broke, but it's just that the job sounds so fulfilling and it's music related.

Woke up to messages today from my mum that someone left kittens outside our house. Went to look at it and got emotionally attached even though it was less than an hour. Felt sad the entire morning because firstly, we can't keep them (Mimi is too fierce). Secondly, I think the mother cat was looking for them. But can't return them to the mother cat as she will most likely kill them due to the smell of humans. Went on an adventure and finally found the malay cat lady in my neighbourhood and passed the 3 kittens to her. Hopefully they will grow up well.

NTS: Never, NEVER hold an animal unless you're so sure that you're gonna keep it.

They're so young their eyes aren't even opened yet

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.

Ikoi Buffet | Sheryl Sim's 24th

Went on a date with Serene and Cait to Ikoi's buffet @ Hotel Miramar. Met them at Simei mrt and took 51 from Cityhall mrt. Had a really really good brunch till the extent that there was no more space for dinner. We sat at this tatami-ish table and I could cross my legs. The service was a little slower than usual Japanese restaurants but that's because everything was fresh. Paid $38++ for lunch, and I think it's the same price for dinner.

Verdict: Worth it. And definitely coming back. Don't recommend coming in big groups though.

Menu, if anyone is interested

Some complimentary stuff (:

Seafood soup in a pot

Cait's favourite pregnant lady fish

Hehe fat legs on tatami chairs thingyyyyy

Headed down to Midview City to sign a contract, then headed down to Bishan. Met Lillian to settle cell syllabus and then took bus 50 down to church for YA cell. Ice breakers was done by Zii and Andy. We (or more like Sheryl Josh and Kai) had to dance/act out the song they were listening to. "Surprised" Sheryl after cell officially ended and she didn't even act surprise at all even though she said she would. But since Zii and Char's birthday is this week too, Cindy got 3 candles. Increase efficiency, save cost (:

Thursday, 14 May 2015

I've been looking forward to 13th May 2015 because that's the end of my misery for the year. Just as I thought I was done with finals, UOL screwed up and my friends and I woke up to an email:

We have to retake Stats1 paper just because the university screwed up big time. I don't understand why they can't find an alternative method to get over this, such as bringing down the base marks and take it that they did not test us on using statistics table this year, then converting it to 100%. I'm just feeling really disappointed right now, not understanding why we, students, should be bearing the consequences of such a stupid mistake made by the university.
Moreover, even our invigilators were stupid enough to not provide the distribution table when so many candidates asked for it. Some even gave smart alec replies like "Oh these are common values you should have memorised them"

THIS is only ONE page of the statistics table. AND YOU EXPECT US TO MEMORISE VALUES?! Oh why not I just go join the Guinness World Record to recite the value of Pi.
And why wasn't anyone in London awake at that time? If there's an emergency hotline, then there should be someone on "guard duty", to be available to answer all queries. Or else isn't that hotline quite redundant? Just cut the line and throw your phone away alright?

But even after saying all these, we still have to suck it up because life is like that and retake that damn paper. There's nothing much we can do except to go stick our heads back into books and start practicing and mugging again. But for now, just let me feel all the angst I can before I cool down and move on with life.

If only we could do that.

//moving on with life//

The first 2 weeks of May was quite a happening one, considering that I've to mug for finals.

Wanting's 21st | FUSE | Mother's Day Dinners | Post-Finals Celebration

Dropped by Wanting's place for her birthday celebration on the 2nd. Had some good homecooked food and her cake was so beautiful oh my should have taken a picture of it. Spammed some photos because we were just being us hahaha. Looking forward to our next meet up and I really hope it's before Wynn's birthday celebration.

Attended FUSE on the 5th even though I had  my first paper on the 6th (and it's Econs) but God is always faithful and true. Felt the peace even though I wasn't really prepared the paper and it was such a fruitful session. God reminded me of Psalms 23:4

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
I will fear no evil
For You are with me
Your staff and Your rod they comfort me;

Very blessed to be in the presence of God, and to know that the Sovereign One is in control of my life.

Celebrated Mother's Day on 2 occasions. Dinner at 姑姑's place on Saturday night with my paternal and maternal grandmother, and dinner at home on Sunday night by Chef Daddy Koh. Oh, Sarah and I made breakfast for the mother on Sunday morning too (:

It was like a potluck dinner but I, being the lazybum, did not contribute to anything except my presence. I guess it's enough right? HAHA

Toasted garlic bread, cooked eggs and meat patty that degenerated because I defrosted it for too long. Sarah made orange juice and arranged the food nicely while I went to shower.

Daddy whipped up a sumptuous dinner- Salad, mushroom soup and codfish for appetiser; Ribeye and roasted chicken for main course; Chocolate chip icecream with strawberries for dessert. It was twas a good night (:

Ended our (supposedly) last paper on 13th so Stacy and I decided to go to Ikea for our celebratory lunch and we did our mincomm material. Left Ikea at about 6 to beat the traffic and we reached Sengkang rather early. Got myself a froyo in a cone as I had been craving for that since Sunday. Min comm was alright, We ended up HTHT-ing and not doing material but we had a really good talk. Just wished everyone was present though.

Some other random photos;

There was this week where I studied at Macs 3 days in a row, and I had constipation. Macs isn't good for my health. *Note to self*

Studied with Stacy after Math and Stats paper at the airport and we got a little distracted before we went to get lunch at PastaMania. Got chased out of Sbux on Monday and they said a nationwide policy of no studying after 2pm has been implemented so we gotta find another place to study.

Found a new study spot without tables and this random couple walked past us. We had a small conversation with this super nice lady who is working in the HR circle, and she encouraged us to study hard, telling us that even with a 2nd lower, there are still huge job prospects out there. After awhile, a mini appeared on my study guide. There is hope (':

Oh and if anyone is interested in UOL grading, Queenie sent this to us some time back!

Honestly, I'm really really thankful for this period of exam because I get to see how God fulfills His promises. I had Stacy by my side for every single paper and we got to say a little prayer before we sit for the papers. Now, it's time to enjoy life for awhile before I get back on doing Stats pyps.

Sarah did this.
